2nd DAN (NIDAN) FOR DANIEL

On Saturday 27th September 2008 at the Honbu Dojo, Sidcup - Daniel Marlow, the Dojo Captain for the Ruxley Manor Dojo took his 2nd Dan (Nidan) examination in front of the E.S.K.K. Senior Sensei - Kevin Thurlow 6th Dan, Sheila Thurlow 4th Dan and Chris Young 3rd Dan.
The examination lasted approximately one hour and consisted of a number of Kihon combinations and routines, followed by demonstration of four Shotokan Kata, then onto defence against 30 random Kumite attacks (from three other Dan grades), finished off with three bouts of Ju Kumite and five minutes of Zen Kumite with other Dan grades.
Daniel stormed throught the grading, demonstrating excellent technique, strength and focus resulting in a unanimous pass from all three examination panel members, who all commented on how much Daniel had improved in his Karate over the last year. Daniel was awarded an ESKK Dan grade certificate (in Englsih and Japanese) at the end of the examination, by Chief Instructor, Kevin Thurlow .
An excellent grading and one to be very proud off.
