HONBU DOJO
The Sidcup Honbu Dojo took their Kyu gradings on 27th September, also under the examination of the ESKK
Chief Instructor, Kevin Thurlow 6th Dan. The grading went well with the following students passing their next
grades: To 9th Kyu George Peto, Jack Stores, Kieran Fowler Wright. To 8th Kyu William Dawes, Justin Miller
and Harry Miller. To 7th Kyu Joshua Hurley, Neil Fowler Wright and Lee Price. To 6th Kyu Paul Keleher. To
3rd Kyu, Jane Riggs and to 2nd Kyu Jamie Young. Again well done to all.
KYU GRADE EXAMINERS
As with the June Kyu Grade Shinsa, during both of the Kyu grade examinations, Sheila Thurlow and Christine Young were in attendance and
taking part of their Kyu Grade Examiner tests. Both of these Sensei had to observe the gradings and then write
up reports on each candidate, explaining what was both good and bad about their gradings and what each
student needs to work on for the future. These reports coupled with a written exam, go to make up their
examination, which both Sensei hope to pass later in the year. Passing this examination will allow them to
grade their own students up to Dan grade level without the Chief Instructor being present.
